17/04/2007 £1 donated for every Motor Show visitor!

The Two Counties Motor Show takes place on the 1st July at the Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket. The show is in its 18th year and just gets bigger and better every time it is held. The newest cars on the market along with some of the oldest classics will all be gathered in one place for car enthusiasts and their families to admire to their heart’s content.

Newmarket based insurance broker The Davis Group, are sponsoring the event for the second year and have pledged to donate £1 for every visitor that walks through the gate. If last year’s figures are anything to go by this will end up being several thousand!

All proceeds from the event are going to support three local charities – The St Nicholas Hospice at Bury St Edmunds, The East Anglian Air Ambulance and Magpas. This event is a brilliant opportunity for exhibitors - there’s guaranteed to be a great turn out and it’s all for a good cause!

The Davis Group are connected with the motorsport world in more ways than one. Leigh Smart, CEO and Kevin Hancock, Managing Director are drivers for Jemco Racing – a nationally competing racing team. Their Marcos Mantis will be on display at the show. Also, this year The Group mixed business with pleasure when they launched a unique insurance product for the motorsport industry. They couldn’t find an insurance broker who could cover everything for their racing team – so they decided to set up a policy of their own!

Smart said “This is the second year we have supported the show and we’re pleased to get involved again. Not only does this event appeal to our love of all things motor, it gives us an opportunity to help some very deserving charities and give a little back – something that is very much part of the company’s culture”.

The day promises to be packed full of exciting things to see and do. Attractions range from radio control car racing with Bury St Edmund’s Model Junction right through to an auction of classic and vintage cars and automobelia by Antique Finds Ltd. And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve even chucked in a beer tent so no one will go thirsty!

The show runs from 10am to 5pm on the 1st July and admission is £5 for adults, £2 for young people aged 12 – 16 and FREE for under 12s.

If anyone would like to get involved through sponsorship or exhibiting at the show, contact Cheryll on 01223 812405.
