History of The Davis Group

The roots of The Davis Group go back to 1975. The company started life as a multi-branch high street brokerage chain, dealing mostly with personal household and car insurances. Then, in 1988 the personal lines operation was sold and four members of the original company struck out on their own. They bought the fledgling commercial and transport client portfolio. Today, the focus of the business remains unchanged.

The companies within the Group are now recognised as being among the top 20 independent insurance brokerages in the UK. And our combined knowledge and expertise within the freight transport and logistics industries are unparalleled. This expertise was recently recognised by our own industry and we were awarded the accolade of Broker of the Year.

While our Head Office remains in Newmarket, close to where the business was first established, our staff are now based in two prime locations. Ensuring all of our clients and brokers across the UK and Ireland are always accessible.

The Group is now firmly established and ready for further growth.

Originally a family business, we still retain strong family values. We are proud that so many of our staff recommend us as a good place to work to their own friends and family. We have sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters all working together. And working well!

These family values extend beyond the office environment. The Davis Group Charitable Trust is an integral part of our organisation and reflects the emphasis we place on having a positive impact on our surroundings. This is further highlighted by being patrons of The Prince’s Trust.
